Establishment of OBC Cells:

The college’s OBC Cell has been established in 2023 with the goal of empowering students from the OBC.

About OBC Cell:

OBC Cell has been established in K.M.G College Of Arts and Science, Gudiyattam to give Awareness and Assistance to the students belonging to Other Backward Communities pursuing various courses in the college.

The college is particularly interested in assisting students with financial aid from government agencies and other sources in these localities The cell is always enlisted to help OBC students with a variety of issues.

VISION:

• To educate, enlighten and empower the students of Other Backward Classes (OBC) to avail scholarships, adequate support and opportunities for the growth and development.
• To ensure equal opportunities for education of OBC students..

MISSION:

• To develop the self-confidence of OBC students.
• To collect reports, orders and information issued by Government of India and the UGC on the various aspects of Education, Training and Employment of other Backward Classes candidates for evolving new Policies or modifying existing policies.
• To monitor the working of the remedial Coaching Scheme in the University for OBC students, including Minorities students.

Objectives:

To provide information and act as guidance for students belonging OBC especially with regard to academic and employment matters.

To organize seminars, workshops, meetings, exhibitions, etc. from time-to-time on matters pertaining to empowering OBC in the society.

• The following are the main goals of the OBC Cell:
• To inform OBC students about central government scholarship programmes
• To counsel and guide OBC students on a variety of challenges and to assist them in managing them
• To address the issues affecting OBC students

Proposed Activities:

• To create awareness of OBC facilities from central government

• to create awareness about competitive exams in various central government post

• to create an idea about creamy layer information’s
