About Department

 

           K.M.G. College of Arts and Science was established on 10th September 2000 with Five UG Departments. (i-e) BBA., B.Com., BCA, B.Sc.,(Computer Science) and B.Sc.,(Bio-Chemistry). The Department of Tamil was also established to offer foundation Tamil for the above courses. At present the college is offering ten UG Courses. Tamil is the foundation course for most of the students under Part – I. We have a Tamil Literary Association in our college. Prominent Tamil Scholars are invited every year to enlighten the students. The Department is conducting various competitions like Essay writing, Poetry Writing and Elocution competition. Winners OF THE COMPETITIONS ARE AWARDED PRIZES IN OUR COLLEGE ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION. The theme of every competition is related to various Social, Economical, Educational and Cultural fields. Above all, the Department is teaching Basic Tamil as non major subject for the students who are not Studying Tamil as part-I. The department has a collection of 1683 books in the general library & 70 books in the department library for ready reference.
