STATE LEVEL SEMINAR ON “STRATEGIES IN ORGANIC SYNTHESIS”
The PG & Research Department of Chemistry organized a State Level Seminar in the topic “STRATEGIES IN ORGANIC SYNTHESIS” on 10thAugust 2017. Dr. D. Gajapathy, Director and Dr. M. Jayasri Rani, Principal of K.M.G. College of Arts & Science, Gudiyattam, inaugurated and presided over the function. Prof. D. Shakila, Head, Department of Chemistry welcomed the gathering. Dr. K. Subramani, Associate Professor of Chemistry, Islamiah College (Autonomous), Vaniyambadi, was the resource person and he delivered a lecture on “Strategies in Organic Synthesis”. As many as 123 students and 7 faculty members from 9 colleges participated in this state level seminar.
In the afternoon session, poster presentation was conducted. 7 posters from 9 colleges were displayed. Prof. P. Chakravarthy, Asst. Prof. of Chemistry, Government Thirumagal Mills College, Gudiyattam, judged the poster presentation.
At the end of the program, Director and Principal distributed the prizes to the winners of poster presentation. Prof. K. Gandhimathi, Assistant Professor of Chemistry proposed a vote of thanks.

STATE LEVEL SEMINAR ON “QUANTUM CHEMISTRY & SPECTROSCOPIC IDENTIFICATION OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS”
The PG & Research Department of Chemistry organized a State Level Seminar in the topic “QUANTUM CHEMISTRY & SPECTROSCOPIC IDENTIFICATION OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS” on 20thAugust 2018 Dr. D. Gajapathy, Director and Dr. M. Jayasri Rani, Principal of K.M.G. College of Arts & Science, Gudiyattam, inaugurated and presided over the function. Dr. K. Subramani, Head, Department of Chemistry welcomed the gathering. Dr.K.R. Sankaran, Head & Associate Professor of Chemistry, Annamalai University, Annamalai nagar, Chithambaram. Was the resource person and he delivered a lecture on “Quantum chemistry” and Dr.K.Geetha Head & Associate Professor, Muthurangam Govt arts College , Vellore. As many as 151 students and 5 faculty members from 8 colleges participated in this state level seminar.
Paper presentation was conducted. 3 papers from 3 colleges were Presented. Prof. S.Daniel deva sangeeth, Asst. Prof. of Chemistry, Voorhees College, Vellore and K.Sharmila , Asst. Prof. of Chemistry, Government Thirumagal Mills College Gudiyattam, judged the Paper presentation.
At the end of the program, Director and Principal distributed the prizes to the winners of Paper presentation. Prof. K. Gandhimathi, Assistant Professor of Chemistry proposed a vote of thanks.

CONFORMATIONAL ANALYSIS OF ORGANIC MOLECULES
The PG & Research Department of Chemistry organized a State Level Seminar on the topic “CONFORMATIONAL ANALYSIS OF ORGANIC MOLECULES” on 30thAugust 2019. Dr. D. Gajapathy, Director and Dr. M. Valarmathi,, Principal inaugurated and presided over the function. Dr. K. Subramani, Head, Department of Chemistry gave welcome address. Dr.M. Nagarathinam, Head & Associate Professor of Chemistry, DKM college for women, (Autonomous) Sainathapuram, Vellore, was the resource person. She delivered a lecture on “CONFORMATIONAL ANALYSIS OF ORGANIC MOLECULES”. 93 students and 7 faculty members from 9 other colleges participated in it.
Poster presentation was conducted. 9 posters from 6 colleges were presented . Prof. Dr D. Shakila, Asst. Prof. of Chemistry, DKM college for women, (Autonomous) Sainathapuram, vellore and Dr. N. Nadeem Afroze, Asst. Prof. of Chemistry,Islamiah college (Autnomous), Vaniyambadi. judged the Poster presentation.

APPLICATIONS OF GROUP THEORY TO SPECTROSCOPY’ & ‘HETERO CYCLIC CHEMISTRY’
A National webinar on ‘APPLICATIONS OF GROUP THEORY TO SPECTROSCOPY’ & ‘HETERO CYCLIC CHEMISTRY’ was organized on 07-08-2020. Dr. D.GAJAPATHY, M.Sc., Ph.D., D.H.Ed.,Professor, PhD from IISC Bangalore as the resource person, delivered a special lecture on ‘APPLICATIONS OF GROUP THEORY TO SPECTROSCOPY’. Dr. K. SRINIVASAN M.Sc.,Ph.D., Associate Professor, School of Chemistry, Bharathidasan University , Tiruchirappalli as the resource person, delivered a special lecture on ‘HETERO CYCLIC CHEMISTRY’. Nearly 93 Students, Research Scholars and Faculties, from various colleges participated in the National Webinar.

QUIZ PROGRAMME
P.G. and Research Department of Chemistry was organized, a QUIZ PROGRAMME in CHEMISTRY, for the celebration of “YOUTH AWAKENING DAY-2022- on 14.10.2022. From our department students, six teams had participated in the programme. The first three teams were awarded with momentums. Dr. M.S SIVAKAMI., P.G. and Research Department of Chemistry, Welcomes the gatherings, our respected principal Dr. M. SENTHILRAJ has given the presidential address and distributed the prizes to the winning teams. Mr. B. BALAJI, and
Mr. V. UMAMAGESHWARAN both the faculties regularized the QUIZ programme.
RECENT ADVANCES IN CHEMISTRY
The PG & Research Department of Chemistry organized National level seminar on “RECENT ADVANCES IN CHEMISTRY” on 23-08-2022. Dr. P.GANDEEPAN, Assistant Professor, Department of chemistry, IIT Thirupathi , Andra Pradesh, as the resource person delivered a special lecture on ”C-H Activation : An Emerging Trend in Organic Synthesis” and Dr. J. MADHAVAN, Associate Professor, Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore, delivered a special lecture on ” Energy and Environmental Applications of Nanomaterials”. As many as 48 students and 01 faculty member from 05 colleges participated in this National level seminar.
