Demonetization and its Impacts on Indian Economy
Our Commerce Department organized National Level Seminar on 08th August, 2017 on the topic “Demonetization and its Impacts on Indian Economy” held at K.M.G.Auditorium. Dr.S.Mythili, Principal, Sri Akilandeswari College for Women, Vandavasi, was the chief guest and delivered a special lecture and paper presentation was held in the afternoon session. Around 250 students were participated from ten colleges and present their research papers in this conference. Finally, our director Dr.D.Gajapathy, distributed the prize for best three research papers on that day.

Special Lecture on Union Budget for 2017 – 2018
On 16.02.2018 our department conducted a Special Lecture on the theme of “Union Budget for the Financial Year 2018-2019″. Mr. CA.K.Mohanraj Bharathi SCA, Secretary, Institute of Chartered Accountant, Vellore Branch as resource person for the first session. The “CA Awareness Programme” was also conducted, Mr.N.RAGURAM SCA, Chairman, Institute of Chartered Accountant, Vellore Branch and Mr.C.A.S.Mohan SCA, Director, Palar Hospital, Gudiyattam, as resource persons for the second session held at K.M.G Seminar Hall, who provided a detailed highlight on their themes to around 250 students on that occasion.

State Level Seminar
The PG & Research Department of Commerce organized a National Level Seminar on the topic “Recent trends in GST” on 04th October, 2019 Dr.J.Srinivasan, Associate professor, RV Government College, Chengalpatu was the chief guest. He delivered a special lecture on this topic. 320 students participated from various colleges. Dr.D.Gajapathy Director, Dr. V.Valarmathi Principal and Prof. M. Megharajan Vice Principal gave the Valedictory Address.
Special Lecture
The Department Organised a Special Lecture on GST and Tally on 07.08.2019. Mr. K.M. Kirubanandham, Auditor delivered the lecture on this topic .100 students of both UG and PG classes participated and benefitted from this special lecture.

Career Awareness Programme
The PG and Research Department of Commerce organized an Career Awareness Programme on 21.01.2021 on “The Company Secretaryship Course” , with the association of “THE INSTITUTE OF COMPANY SECRETARIES OF INDIA” through Mirofoft Teams. Dr. K.Gomathy, Head and Assistant Professor of the PG Research Department of Commerce welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Dr. M. Valarmathi, Principal, presided over the Fuction. CS. N.Balasubramanian, Chairman , ICSI-SIRC and Mrs.Chithra Anantharaman, Deputy Director , ICSI-SIRO acted as the resource persons and delivered a special address about the Scope of the Course. About 287 students and 15 faculty members participated and benefited by this Webinar. Dr. D.Saravanan, Assistant Professor, PG and Research Department of Commerce proposed a vote of thanks.
