Activities During 2014-15
- Our department organized a National Conference on the theme “Online Shopping” on 17.09.2014. Dr.R.Shanmugavalli, Principal, Kamban college of Arts and Science, Thiruvannamalai inaugurated the conference and gave the inaugural Speech. The Resource persons for Technical I & II were Dr. G. Purandar Gobal College of Management Studies, Bangalore and Dr. K.G. Hemalatha Head Department of Business Administration Dhaya Nandha Engineering College, Bangalore. Dr.G.Yogananthan, Associate Professor in Economics, Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore addressed the students during Valedictory session and distributed the certificates to the participants 350 students from other colleges participated and get benefited out of this programme.
- Our students organized freshers day celebration on 30.9.2014 to welcome the I year students.
- “Financial Awareness” was given to our final year students on 10.10.2014. Dr.A.Dhanalakshmi, Director of management studies, Acharya Bangalore - “B” School, Bangalore highlighted the Savings Thrift and Investment Plans among the students.
- In association with Intelliexperts Pvt Ltd., our department has inaugurated the tally certified course on 26. 07. 2014 to our B.com & B.com (CA) students. This course was carried out for 18 days at week ends and 110 students benefited out of this program.
Our Future Plan
- We have applied for the Ph.D.,program and we are expecting approval of the University during the next academic year.
- Dr. T. Bharathi and Prof. C. Srinivasan presented paper titled "Application of Marketing Mix by Tamilians in Sangam Period" at the International Conference held at Govt. Thirumagal Mills College, Gudiyattam on 06.02.2015
Staff members participation / presentation in other colleges
- Dr. T. Bharathi, HOD of commerce participated in the international conference on “ Internationalisation of Higher Education and quality assurance-Trends and challenges” organized by VIT University, Vellore on 9th and 10th of January 2015.
- Prof. C. Srinivasan participated in the two days orientation programme on NITI Aayog held at Puducherry from 29-01-2015 to 30-01-2015.
Along with 11 UG students, Prof. V.Vinagayamoorthy had attended the UGC sponsored two days workshop on “capacity building of rural Graduate students “ on 13th and 14th August 2014 held at Sacred Heart College, Thirupttur. - Prof. R. Sridhar participated in the seminar on “FDI-challenges and opportunities” on 21st and 22nd of August 2014 held at Govt. Thirumagal Mills College, Gudiyattam. He was accompanied 11 students.
- Prof. K.S. Karuna along with 13 students participated in the “e-world inter collegiate competitions” held on 18th Sep 2014 at Auxilium College Vellore. Mr. Manishkumar and Mr. Balasubramaniam of I B.com (CA) won the III prize in the competition named “connections”.
- Prof. R. Periyasamy has participated in the National Conference on “F inclusion- current status, challenges and opportunities” along with 4 students on 29th Sep 2014 at M.K.Jain College, Vaniyambadi.
Students participation in other colleges
- Three students D. Ajantha, S. Rajalakshmi, K. Ramya of I. M.com have participated in the state level seminar on “consumer rights & responsibilities” held on 11th Oct 2014 at Arcot, Sri Mahalakshmi women’s college, vilapakkam.
- M. Srinivasan III B.com (CA) and K. Vignesh III B.com(CA) have participated in the national level "symposium on the theme " National level management symposium” held at Ganadipathy Tulsi’s Jain Engineering college, Kaniyambadi on 18th Oct 2014.
- M.Phil research scholars P. Indira, K. Devi, S. Shamili. activity book part in the conference titled “ How to write a research thesis” held at Mazhrul Uloom College, Ambur on 16.Oct. 2014.
