STATE LEVEL SEMINAR:
The PG & Research Department of Chemistry organized a State Level Seminar in the topic “STRATEGIES IN ORGANIC SYNTHESIS” on 10thAugust 2017. Dr. K. Subramani, Associate Professor of Chemistry, Islamiah College (Autonomous), Vaniyambadi, was the chief guest and he delivered a special lecture in the topic “Strategies in Organic Synthesis”. In the afternoon session, poster presentation was conducted. 10 posters from 10 colleges were displayed. Prof. P. Chakravarthy, Asst. Prof. of Chemistry, Government Thirumagal Mills College, Gudiyattam, judged the poster presentation. As many as 123 students and 7 faculty members from 10 colleges participated in this state level seminar.
OUT-CAMPUS ACHIEVEMNTS:
- K.Veni, M.Phil.in Chemistry was participated and presented a paper in the National conference organized by the Department of Chemistry, Thiruvalluvar University, Serkkadu, Vellore, on 11th August 2017.
- Two students from II PG and two students from I PG Chemistry were participated and won second prize in the Intercollegiate Quiz programme, conducted by the Department of Chemistry, Priyadarshini Engineering College, Vaniyambadi, on 22nd September 2017.
- G. students of our department were participated in the Intergollegiate Debate organized by the PG & Research Department of Chemistry, Auxilium College (Autonomous), Vellore, on 7th October 2017.
- G. Students and faculty members of our department were participated in the National Conference in the topic “Emerging Trends and Future Challenges in Chemical Sciences” organized by the P.G. Department of Chemistry, Shanmuga Industries Arts & Science College, Tiruvannamalai, on 11th October 2017.
- I & II M.Sc., Chemistry Students of our department were participated in the intercollegiate competition Chem-Fusion-17, organised by the P.G. & Research Dept. of Chemistry, Islamiah College (Autonomous), Vaniyambadi, on 24th October 2017.
- I & II M.Sc., Chemistry Students of our department were participated in the Intercollegiate Quiz competition, organized by the P.G. & Research Dept. of Chemistry, Abdul Hukeem College, Melvisharam, on 20th January 2018.
PAPER PRESENTATION BY STAFF IN NATIONAL CONFERENCES:
- D. Shakila, Assistant Professor & Head, P.G. Research Department of Chemistry was participated and presented a paper in the National conference organized by the Department of Chemistry, Thiruvalluvar University, Serkkadu, Vellore, on 11th August 2017.
- D. Shakila, Assistant Professor & Head, P.G. Research Department of Chemistry was participated and presented a paper in the National conference organized by the P.G. & Research Department of Chemistry, D.K.M. College for Women (Autonomous), Vellore, on 5th January 2018 and won Third Prize in the oral presentation.
YOUTH RED CROSS ACTIVITIES:
B.Sc. chemistry students had attended the various programs conducted during the academic year 2017-2018 at our college campus organized by YRC.
SPORTS ACTIVITIES:
Many students of our department were participated and won many prizes in all the sports events conducted in our college campus.
Many students of our department were participated in many intercollegiate sports and won many prizes in all the sports events conducted by various institutions.
100% ATTENDANCE SECURED BY STUDENTS:
Many of our department students of both UG and PG secured 100% attendance for this academic year.
