Science Exhibition
Three days Science Exhibition was conducted by our department along with the department of Biochemistry and the department of Microbiology on 28.01.10,29.01.10 and 01.02.10. Higher secondary School students of twenty schools from in and around Gudiyattam were visited the science exhibition.
State Level Seminar
One day State Level Seminar on “Current Research in Chemistry” was conducted by our department on 23rd Feb-2010. Resources persons Dr. N.Lakshminarasimhan, Scientist in Central Electrochemical Research Institute and Dr. Sr. Jayashanthi, Associate Professor in chemistry, Auxilium college, given their valuable talk to the students.
National Conference
All the staff members and students of our department were participated in the “National Conference on the Interplay of Biological and Chemical Sciences” conducted by the Zoology department thiruvalluvar University, Vellore on 06th to 08th Jan-2010.
Out-Campus Achievements
Department of Chemistry or our college has become a member of RUSAC in that academic year. III Bsc Chemistry students were participated in a debate on the topic “Advancemants in Nanotechnology-boon or bane, organised by the department of chemistry, D.K.M.College, Vellore on 12th Sept-09.
Department of Chemistry of Auxilium College was conducted a paper presentation on behalf of RUSAC on 24th oct-2010. All the staff members of our department were participated and students of III Bsc Chemistry were participated and Presenter a paper on the topic “PHASE TRANSFER CATALYSIS”.
Other Activities
Students of department had participated in other activities like NSS, YRC, Blood donation, fine Arts activities and won the prizes with certificates.
Sports Activities
V. Velu of I Bsc Chemistry won a SILVER MEDAL in the Inter divisional Boxing tournament held at our College Campus and he also participated in State Level Boxing Tournament in chennai.
Interpartmental Activities:
Interpartmental quiz Programme was conducted in the college campus on 12th March-2010. Two students of III Bsc Chemistry won a SECOND PRIZE in that Quiz competition.
