INTER-COLLEGIATE   IT – MEET 

The PG & Research Department of Computer Science and Applications organized an Inter – Collegiate  IT Meet / Seminar  titled iBlaze’17 on 9thAugust 2017. Dr. D. Gajapathy, Director and Dr. M. Jayasri Rani, Principal inaugurated and presided over the function. Prof. P.Daniel Sundarraj, Head, Department of Computer Science and Applications welcomed the gathering. Mr. M Karthik, ICT Academy, Tamil Nadu was invited as the resource person and he delivered a lecture on “NETWORK SECURITY – NEXT GENERATION FIREWALLS”. As many as 256 students from 18 colleges participated in this mega event. During this IT Meet, the following events were conducted.

  2. Quiz Event.
  3. Debugging Event.
  4. Web Designing Event.
  5. Just A Minute Event.
  6. Advertir (Marketing Event)
  7. Poster Presentation

At the end of the program, the Director and Principal distributed prizes to the winners of various events. Prof. P. Anjugam of Department of Computer Science proposed a vote of thanks

Overall Championship Trophy was awarded to Auxilium College, Vellore.

ICT ACADEMY

EDUCATIONAL TOUR:

The department organized an Educational tour to Kodaikanal on 18.08.2016  for the final year students of BCA and B.Sc., Computer Science courses and about 95 students participated in it.

COMPUTER LITERACY PROGRAMME:

Computer Literacy Programme for non computer students of our college and for the school students of rural  was  started on  04.08.17 by our department  and as many as 95 students were benefitted.  Prof. L. Sankar Ganesh acted as Programme coordinator and Prof. R.M Balamurugan & Prof. M. Raja acted as members.

INTRA DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES

     The department conducted various intra-departmental competitions on 24.01.18.  The students participated in the following events and won prizes.

 ALUMINI MEET

An Alumini meet was conducted on 02.04.17. Around 90 students participated in this  mega event in it.

Another Alumini meet  was conducted on  1.10.2017.   As many as 35 members attended this meet.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

The Department of Computer Science and Applications organized an Industrial Visit for the P.G. Students and the students visited an MNC Software Development firm on 22.09.17.  This I-V trip helped the students to interact directly with the project team members and obtained real time exposure in developing software projects.

PLACEMENT CELL:

Our students got placed in reputed companies like TCS, WIPRO, ACCENTURE,AGS, HCL, INFOSYS, ASPIRE SYSTEMS etc.  Last year as many as 48 students were placed in various companies.

OUT CAMPUS ACHIEVEMENTS:        

The department is constantly encouraging and motivating the students by allowing them to participate in various events conducted by other colleges (Inter-Collegiate competitions).

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • An Awareness Programme on DVDMS-DRUG VACCINE DISTRIBUTION AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM  was organized by RNTCP-REVISED NATIONAL TUBERCULOSIS CONTROL PROGRAMME Vellore  for the Pharmacists and it was held  in our Campus on 06.12.2017 & 07.12.2017.  D.Meenakshi, Medical Office, DTC, Vellore, Dr.Priscilla Snehalatha, Senior DRTB Medical Officer, GVMCH, Vellore Co-ordinated the programme with the help of our staff members Prof.N.Venugopal, Prof.R.M.Balamurugan, Prof.G.Bharathkumar, Prof.K.Rajiv, Mr.M.Dhinakaran Mr.k.Hari.
