STATE LEVEL CONFERENCE:
Our chemistry department organized State Level conference on 11th September 2015 in the topic “Recent Trends in Green Chemistry”. Dr. C. Abdul Huque, Former Head and Bursar (retd), The New College, Chennai, was the chief guest and delivered a special lecture and poster presentation was held in the afternoon session. Students from various colleges were participated in this conference.
INTERCOLLEGIATE LECTURE PROGRAMME:
Intercollegiate Lecture Program was conducted for PG students on behalf of RUSAC by our department on 30th January 2016. Subject experts from various colleges gave their valuable lectures to the students. 100 students and 10 staff members from various colleges were participated in the program.
OUT-CAMPUS ACHIEVEMNTS:
P.G. final year Students of our department were participated in the Intercollegiate Quiz competition, organized by the P.G. & Research Dept. of Chemistry, Auxilium College for Women, Vellore, in the month of September-2016.
P.G. final year Students of our department were participated in the Intercollegiate Paper presentation, organized by the P.G. & Research Dept. of Chemistry, D.K.M. College for Women, Vellore, on 08th Jan-2016.
Ms. R. Narmadha of II B.Sc., Chemistry was participated in Poetry competition and got a certificate and also she won second prize in drawing competition which was conducted at our college on behalf of National Consumer’s Safety day on 11th Jan 2016.
Ms. R. Narmadha of II B.Sc., Chemistry had won First prize in drawing competition and Ms. N. Janani of III B.Sc., Chemistry had won second prize in essay competition which was conducted at our college on behalf of National Voter’s Day on 25th Jan 2016.
I M.Sc., Chemistry Students were participated in the Intercollegiate Paper presentation, organized by the P.G. & Research Dept. of Chemistry, Muthurangam Govt. Arts College, Vellore, on 23th Feb-2016
State Level Seminar and National Conference attended by Students:
Students of I M.Sc .chemistry were attended the State Level Seminar on “EMERGING TRENDS IN CHEMISTRY”, organized by the P.G. & Research Dept. of Chemistry, Voorhees College, Vellore, on Jan 29th-2016.
Students of II M.Sc., & III B.Sc., .chemistry were attended the National Conference on RECENT TRENDS IN CHEMICAL SCIENCE” and M.Phil., Research Scholar presented a poster in the conference, organized by the P.G. & Research Dept. of Chemistry, Muthurangam Govt. Arts College, Vellore, on Feb 05th-2016.
INTER-DEPARTMENT QUIZ:
- Prabakaran, II M.Sc. chemistry, N. Janani,and H. Monisha, II B.Sc. Chemistry of our department had participated and won third prize in the inter-department quiz programme held at our college seminar hall organized by Dept. of Microbiology on 18th Feb-2016.
YOUTH RED CROSS ACITIVITIES:
B.Sc. chemistry students had attended the various programs conducted during the academic year 2015-2016 at our college campus organized by YRC.
SPORTS ACTIVITIES:
Many students of our department were participated and won many prizes in all the sports events conducted in our college campus.
Many students of our department were participated in many intercollegiate sports and won many prizes in all the sports events conducted by various institutions.
FINE ARTS ACTIVITIES:
III UG student had won third prize in Face-painting competition
II UG student had won third prize in Waste makes craft.
Many students of our department were participated in many competitions conducted by fine arts team of our college.
100% ATTENDANCE SECURED BY STUDENTS:
Many of our department students of both UG and PG secured 100% attendance for this academic year.
- Monisha of UG final year and S. Prabakaran of PG final year chemistry were selected as a BEST OUTGOING STUDENTS of our department for the academic year 2015-2016.
