Annual Report 2014 – 2015

• Women’s Welfare Club Organized Awareness Programme on Breast Cancer and diet control for girl students on 13/08/2014. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.D.Gajapathy, Principal, KMG College of Arts and Science and Welcome address was given by Prof. R.Maheswari, Head, PG & Research Department of Biochemistry. The special address was given by Mrs. Sathya, Staff nurse, Govt. Hospital, Gudiyattam. Prof. P.Vinothini has organized the program and Prof. K.Gomathy has given vote of thanks. Nearly 650 girl students participated and benefited by this programme.
• 22nd January 2015 V. Prabavathy of II Bsc Biochemistry participated and won II prize in Drawing Competition in Tamil Literary Association, conducted by Department of Tamil.
  22nd January 2015 Rajamoses of I Msc Biochemistry and won prize in Kavithai (Poet) Competition in Tamil Literary Association, conducted by Department of Tamil.
• 24th January 2015, Our College students M.Ruban of II Msc Biochemistry, were participated and won III prize in pencil sketch, conducted by English Literary Association.
  5th February 2015, Our College student M.Ruban of II Msc Biochemistry, were participated in pencil sketch competition and won I prize, conducted by fine arts club.
• 6th February 2015, Our College students were constantly motivated to participate in many events conducted in our college. M.Ruban and M.Vinoth of II Msc Biochemistry were participated in group singing and won I prize and M.Vinoth of II Msc Biochemistry student were participated in solo singing competition and won I prize and M.Ruban of II Msc Biochemistry student were participated in solo dance and won I prize, Revathi of III Bsc Biochemistry and V. Prabavathy, Durgadevi of II Bsc Biochemistry and Indira kumari of I Bsc Biochemistry were participated group dance conducted by fine arts club, held in our college.
• Our college students, S.Durga of II Bsc Biochemistry and Indira kumari of I Bsc Biochemistry were participated in quiz competition held on 09.02.2015.
  23rd July 2014, our college YRC & Biochemistry Association jointly conducted blood group identification camp for all the I year students of our College.
• 12th September 2014, Our students S.Komala, J.Divya, P.Nandhini, V.Prabavathy, R.Pushpa, R.Soniya, and C.Mohan of II Bsc students, Mr.S.Velmurugan and Prathap of I Msc students were participated in poster presentation and C.Mohan of II Bsc Biochemistry won 3rd prize in poster presentation conducted by Scared Heart College, Thirupathur.
• 16th September 2014, The PG and Research Department of Biochemistry and Department of Microbiology organized a Conference on “Innovative skills in Biosciences” (ISBS 2014). Students from more than 10 Colleges of various branches of life sciences such as Microbiology, Biochemistry, Zoology & Biotechnology have presented their posters & Won the prizes. Various speakers M. Anto Stephen, Assistant Manager, Department of Biotechnology, Biocon, Bangalore & S. Umesh Kumar Assistant Manager, Department of Microbiology, Biocon, Bangalore have delivered the Speech on advanced research topics.
• 29th September 2014, our department celebrated fresher’s day function for I UG and I PG students were conducted by II and III UG and II PG students.
• 10th October 2014 Our students S.Komala, J.Divya, S.Durga, V.Prabavathy, R.Pushpa, K.Buvaneshwari, K.Kalpana, M.Yuvarani and C.Mohan of II Bsc students, Mr.S.Velmurugan of I Msc student and M.Ruban, R.Ragu, M.Vinoth of II Msc students were participated in DST Sponsored Conference held in Department of Zoology conducted by D.K.M College for women, Vellore.
• 19th December 2014, Our students S.Komala, J.Divya, P.Nandhini, V.Prabavathy, R.Pushpa, R.Soniya, D.Kamali, M.Sharmila, S.Durga, Y.Devika, K.Buvaneshwari, K.Kalpana, K.Durgadevi, D.Gowthami and C.Mohan of II Bsc students, Mr.S.Velmurugan, K.Sandhiyadevi, M.Deepika, M.Shobana, G.Sangeetha and V.Revathi of I Msc students were participated in poster presentation and M.Shobana, G.Sangeetha and V.Revathi I Msc Biochemistry won 3rd prize in poster presentation conducted by GTM College, Gudiyattam.
• 9th January 2015, Marudhar Kesari Jain College for Women, Vaniyambadi has conducted Artsmart Cultural Meet. Our College students M.Ruban and M.Vinoth of II Msc Biochemistry, were participated and won II prizes in pair dance, group dance, comedy skit and III prizes in Fashion parade and mime show.
