Annual Report for the Academic Year 2014-15

To empower the students with positive inputs, an Inter-Collegiate IT meet in the name of iBlaze is being organized every year. This year, the 8th edition of iBlaze was conducted on 18th September 2014. To create awareness on the current trends in the field of Information Technology, a seminar was conducted on “Android & Mobile Technology” as part of iBlaze. Mr. S. Shanmugavel, Project Manager of EMC² Bangalore, delivered a special lecture on this topic. Also, to improve the intellectual talents and other technical skills of the students, various events like Paper Presentation, Animator, Code Blaster, Quiz, and Rad Event were conducted as part of iBlaze event. As many as 300 students from 30 colleges participated in this fabulous event. At the end of this program Prof. H. Faheem Ahmed, HOD, Department of Computer Science, Islamiah College (Autonomous), Vaniyambadi delivered the valedictory address & distributed the prizes to the winners of the events. This year the department organized an Educational tour to Kodaikanal on 08.08.2014 for the final year students of BCA and B.Sc., Computer Science courses and about 150 students participated in it. Also, to assess the aptitude and attitude of the students, the department is constantly organizing an Intra-departmental activity program every year and this year, it was conducted on 31.01.15. During this program, various events such as paper presentation, Group Discussion, Quiz were conducted and the students of BCA, B.Sc., and M.Sc., (IT) courses participated in it effectively and won prizes.

A workshop was conducted on “ANDROID AND MOBILE TECHNOLOGY” on 09.02.15 in the KMG Seminar Hall. Prof. N. Venugopal of our department delivered a lecture on it.

The department motivates the staff and students by allowing them to participate in the various programs organized by ICT Academy, Chennai. We got the institutional membership in ICT.
The Department of Computer Science and Applications is submitting the following university results of various courses during the academic year 2013-14.

The department is constantly encouraging and motivating the students by allowing them to participate in the various events conducted by other colleges (Inter-Collegiate IT Meet). This year, the following students of our department participated in the events conducted at the MMES College premises in Vellore and won the Overall Championship Trophy and Award by bringing laurels to the institution and our department.
