Annual Report for the Academic Year 2013-14

In this academic year 2013-14, the department started a new research Programme, M.Phil., Computer Science and a maximum strength of 20 students were admitted in the course. Also, to improve the research quality, the department has established a high speed Internet Research Lab with a speed of 2mbps Leased Line connectivity. Every year the department is regularly organizing an Inter-Collegiate IT meet in the name of iBlaze and this year, the 7th edition of iBlaze was conducted on 7.09.2013 ,Prof. Mr.M.Arumaiselvam, H.O.D., Department of Computer Science,
St.Joseph’s College, Cuddalore (Academic Council Member- Thiruvalluvar University)
Was the chief guest and distributed prizes to the winners of the events and about 32 colleges from various districts were participated and won prizes. Also, as a step to improve the intellectual talents of our students, the department is constantly organizing an Intra-departmental activity program every year and this year, the event was conducted on 11.03.2014. Various events such as paper presentation, Just a Minute (JAM), Quiz were conducted and the students of BCA, B.Sc., and M.Sc.,(IT) participated in it effectively and won prizes.
The department motivates the staff and students by allowing them to participate in the various programs organized by ICT Academy, Chennai. We got institutional membership in ICT.

An Environmental trip was arranged for the first year students and the students visited the place Batrapalli
The Department of Computer Science and Applications is proud to submit the following university results of various courses during the academic year 2011-12.

The following students were placed in reputed organizations at the campus interview held during this academic year 2013-14.

• Md. Aamir Murthaza - III BCA B - Placed in Cognizant Technology & solutions.
• C. Karthik - III CS - Placed in ICICI Bank
• S. Sharmila - III CS - Placed in IScript Technology

The department is constantly encouraging and motivating the students by allowing them to participate in the various events conducted by other colleges (Inter-Collegiate competitions). The High Speed Leased line Internet and Research Lab was jointly inaugurated by the secretary Shir. K.M.G Rajendiran and the principal Dr. D. Gajapathy on 23.01.14
