UNIVERSITY RESULT 

  • The Department of English produced 100% of result for the PG and 69% of result for

UG in the academic year 2015-16 in their University Examinations.

 

 

ACTIVITIES OF PG DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH

 

State Level Seminar

An extra-ordinary State level Seminar was held on 19.08.16. Dr.Thomas Appadurai Sugirdharaj, Dean, Dhivya Arts and Science College, Chetpet was the chief guest and he delivered a Lecture on “Diasporic Literature”. Nearly 87 students from nine colleges actively participated in this seminar.

Inter College Competitions

           

Our students participated in Inter College events organized by Islamiah Women’s Arts & Science College, Vaniyambadi on 29.09.2016 and won prizes in various events like Carols, Poetry Explanation, Tableau, Mime Show, and Pageant. They won various prizes in respective competitions.

Our students participated in various events at LUMIERE’17 organized by M.M.E.S. Women’s Arts College, Melvisharam on 31.01.17 and won the Overall championship.

Our Department Students have take part in various Literary events At BOSLIT’17 organised by Don Bosco College, Yelagiri on 15.02.2017 and won the Overall Championship.

English Literary Association

English Literary Association is active in our college. It has conducted various competitions such as Elocution, Pencil sketch, Debate, Calligraphy, Tongue twisters, Essay writing, Poetry Explanation and Poetry writing.

Publication of Articles/Journals/Books/Papers

Dr.D.Kalavathy, Prof.M. Saranya, Prof.M.C. Subhashini and R.Winny Early star, V.Subalakshmi students of II year M.A presented papers and published the presented papers in the Inter National Journal delivered at the International Conference organized by Government College for Women, Bargur on 07.10.16 and also in Nazareth College of Arts & Science, Chennai on 4.2.17.

Faculty Development Program

Prof. D. Balaji, Prof. R. Raj Mohan and Prof. M. Saranya attended another FDP focusing on “Stress Management” on 9th & 10th of December, 2016, organized at K.M.G. College of Arts and Science, Gudiyattam.

Prof. R. Hari Babu attended FDP that highlighted “Presentation Skills” at Priyadarshini Engg. College, Vaniyambadi on 6th & 7th January, 2017 at National Level Workshop.

National Level Workshop

Prof. D. Balaji and Prof. R. Raj Mohan attended National Level Workshop on 16th March, 2016, at VIT, Vellore.  The topic was about “Making Teaching and Learning a Full-filled Expericence”.

National Level Seminar

Prof. D. Balaji and Prof. R. Raj Mohan attended National Level Seminar on 26th October, 2016, at VIT, Vellore.  The topic was about “Ambit of Research”.

International Seminar

Prof. D. Balaji attended an International Seminar on 8th October, 2016, at Mazharul Uloom College, Ambur.  It was about “Science of Teaching and Learning”.

National Workshop

12 students of II M.A. English participated in National Level Seminar at Islamiah Women’s College, Vaniyambadi as well as at VIT, Vellore.
